We condition the poor and the working class to go to war. We promise them honor, status, glory, and adventure. We promise boys they will become men. We hold these promises up against the dead-end jobs of small-town life, the financial dislocations, credit card debt, bad marriages, lack of health insurance, and dread of unemployment. The military is the call of the Sirens, the enticement that has for generations seduced young Americans working in fast food restaurants or behind the counters of Walmarts to fight and die for war profiteers and elites.

Dear President Barack Obama:

I feel I was treated unfairly by the American Justice System. I was a Senior Environmental Scientist working a Superfund Environmental Restoration Project, near Cincinnati Ohio and became a whistleblower.

After what I experienced, I would never encourage anyone to do the same, no matter how egregious the situation.

Summary of the Case – the case involved illegal dumping allegations at a CERCLA cleanup project.

The defendant argued the particular type of contaminant in question posed no threat to the environment and was therefore exempt from onsite burial restrictions.

Therefore, we write to thank Congress and the President for preparing to adopt a JOBS Act that will provide us with job security for life. We will be the personal beneficiaries of Congress’ decision to adopt the law without the pesky hearings that would allow critics to launch devastating attacks on the proposed bill based on a brutally unfair tactic – the presentation of facts. Unfortunately, in our professional capacities, we must oppose the bill. This bill is an atrocity.
